Volunteer at our Sanctuary
"I recommend Animal Tracks as an outstanding volunteer opportunity if you have the desire, time, and motivation to do so. They do adapt the tasks to the skill set of the volunteer and are generous with the education (with emphasis on safety). I can't think of a better or more rewarding use of my time than learning from kind people, caring for these animals that deserve only the best, and teaching others why it is best to leave them in the wild." - LISA A. (Volunteer)
THIS IS AN APPLICATION TO VOLUNTEER ON A LONG-TERM BASIS
(FOR ONE-TIME EXPERIENCES, PLEASE CLICK HERE)
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Animal Tracks!
Before applying, PLEASE CAREFULLY REVIEW THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:
Animal Tracks provides extensive hands-on training and relies heavily on volunteer support. Because of the time and resources invested in training, we ask that volunteers meet the following requirements:
• Commit to the same volunteer day each week for a minimum of six months (one year preferred)
• Be at least 18 years old
• Arrive 10–15 minutes before your scheduled shift and be prepared to begin work promptly at 8:00 AM (tasks usually end around 3 PM)
• Be comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
• Be able to perform physical tasks including walking, lifting, bending, cleaning, and carrying supplies
• Follow staff direction and established safety protocols at all times
• Understand that volunteering may involve cleaning, food preparation, maintenance tasks, and husbandry duties
PLEASE NOTE
Consistent attendance, punctuality, communication, and adherence to safety protocols are important components of the volunteer evaluation process.
Animal Tracks is a sanctuary and is not a rehabilitation facility. Volunteer positions are based on organizational needs, training progress, safety considerations, and staff discretion. Placement with specific animals is not guaranteed.
If time allows, you might help during playtime, when some of the animals get enrichment outside of their enclosures (under strict supervision of management and staff). Safety is our number one priority, for our animals, staff and volunteers.
Our rescues are not pets. Our role is to advocate for them—helping people understand who they truly are, not who we want them to be.
Before signing up, we also recommend that you:
- have a current anti-Tetanus shot;
- have a current TB test;
- are vaccinated against Covid 19.
We reserve the right to conduct background checks on applicants at our discretion.
If this works for you, please complete the form below and our volunteer coordinator will be in touch as soon as possible.
Thank you, and we look forward to welcoming you to the ANIMAL TRACKS FAMILY!
